If the question is purely which shoe is the most comfortable, the answer is the Solase. It’s one of the more unique mid-cuts out there — and this one takes the height to a whole new level. They look like basketball shoes, and they pride themselves on comfort above all.
That on-cloud feeling
Inside, it’s extremely cushiony — it gives you that on-cloud sensation the second you step in. It’s really flexible, really breathable, and deceptively light: for a shoe this big you’d expect something heavy and sturdy, and it just isn’t. They lean into mid-cut support and reinforce the areas that matter in pickleball — especially the ankle, which a lot of players struggle with. It hugs your foot so well it feels like the shoe is wrapping around it. The toe box is on the wider side too, so there’s room to spread out.
Built to breathe
The toe-guard area is engineered to let air flow through, which keeps your foot cool on long sessions out in the sun. Breathability is one of the things this shoe absolutely nails.
Know what it’s for
I’ll be honest about where it lands: for me this plays like a casual pickleball shoe. You don’t see a lot of pros in it right now. It’s comfort-oriented and a great fit for the average rec player — someone who doesn’t want to take it too seriously but still wants the best, most comfortable experience. For me, it’s the shoe I’ll roll up to class in, play 30 minutes, and head home.
Would I take it to a tournament? No — I’d grab another shoe. But as an all-day-comfort, walk-up- to-the-court shoe, nothing beats it.
The trade-off is durability. After about 10 hours of play the toe-drag area already starts wearing off. For anyone up to around the 4.5 level, it’ll do you just fine. If you’re playing at a higher level or grinding long sessions, you’ll want something more armored.
